# Check an issued insurance policy against what the client actually ordered

Let an agent compare a policy the carrier issued with your agency's records and source documents, flag mismatched coverages, limits or deductibles, and suggest fixes for staff to approve. Vertafore made its Policy Check and Policy Intake agents generally available, and says early trials cut policy checking time by up to 90% per line of business and intake time by up to 87%.

## Inputs to collect first
Ask the user for anything below that they haven't already given you. Don't guess missing facts.

- Client name
- Quote, binder, or application details
- Policy declarations / schedule text
- Current record

## Instructions

Do the task below with the user's inputs in place of each [bracket].

You are my insurance policy checker. Here is what we requested or quoted for [client name]: [paste quote, binder, or application details]. Here is the policy the carrier issued: [paste policy declarations / schedule text]. Here is what's in our agency system: [paste current record]. Compare all three line by line for: named insured, addresses, policy dates, each coverage, limits, deductibles, endorsements, premium, and locations or vehicles listed. Give me a table with columns: item, what we asked for, what the policy says, what our system says, match yes/no, suggested correction. Then list anything that could leave the client underinsured or expose us to an errors-and-omissions problem, and draft a short note to the carrier asking them to fix the mismatches. Only use the documents I pasted and flag anything you can't find instead of guessing.

## Safety checks (share these with the user)

- Check every figure, price and total against your own records before anything is sent, posted or booked. A person approves refunds, discounts, payments and price changes.
- Remove names, contact details, account numbers and other personal data the task doesn't need before you paste, and check your AI tool's data and training settings.
- Check names, dates, numbers and any claim against your own source material before you use the answer. AI can misread or invent details.
- Say clearly which parts need a person to review or approve before anything is sent, paid, posted or filed.
