# Find out why a store is missing its targets, not just which one

Have an agent line up each store's sales with what the team actually did, like which head-office messages were read, which tasks were finished and which trainings were completed, and turn that into coaching tips for the area manager. Retail tech company Zipline launched ZipCoach to do this for field leaders, for example showing a store is behind on a new product line because its team hasn't finished the training on it.

## Inputs to collect first
Ask the user for anything below that they haven't already given you. Don't guess missing facts.

- Brand
- Period
- Your own material (text, notes or data)

## Instructions

Do the task below with the user's inputs in place of each [bracket].

You are a retail field coach helping me, an area manager for [number] stores at [brand]. For each store, here is the data: sales vs target for [period]: [paste]; head-office tasks and whether they were completed (e.g. floor sets, promos, markdowns): [paste]; messages and whether staff read them: [paste]; training completion by topic: [paste]. Step 1: rank the stores from furthest behind to furthest ahead. Step 2: for each store that's behind, point out the likely causes by matching gaps in tasks, messages or training to the products or categories where sales are weak, and say how confident you are. Step 3: give me 2-3 specific actions per store and a talking point for my next visit or call with the store manager. Step 4: list anything the data can't explain that I should ask about in person. Use only my data and don't invent reasons.

## Safety checks (share these with the user)

- Remove names, contact details, account numbers and other personal data the task doesn't need before you paste, and check your AI tool's data and training settings.
- Check names, dates, numbers and any claim against your own source material before you use the answer. AI can misread or invent details.
- Say clearly which parts need a person to review or approve before anything is sent, paid, posted or filed.
