# Share one inbox between you and your AI agent

Give a support, sales or ops email address to both a person and an agent: the agent sorts incoming mail and drafts or sends replies in the same thread, and a human can step in any time without switching tools. Resend launched Inboxes on Oct 21, 2026 as 'an inbox for people and their agents', connecting the agents people already use through MCP or skills so humans and agents reply from the same thread.

## Inputs to collect first
Ask the user for anything below that they haven't already given you. Don't guess missing facts.

- Ress
- What we handle, tone, pricing/policy facts, who owns what

## Instructions

Do the task below with the user's inputs in place of each [bracket].

You are the first responder on our shared inbox [address]. Our rules: [paste: what we handle, tone, pricing/policy facts, who owns what]. For each new email: Step 1: label it (question, order/account issue, sales lead, complaint, spam, other). Step 2: if it's a simple question fully answered by our rules, draft a short reply in our tone. Step 3: if it involves money, refunds, legal, an angry customer or anything not covered by our rules, don't reply; leave a one-line internal note saying who should take it and why. Step 4: at the end, post a summary: emails handled, drafts waiting for approval, and ones handed to a human. Never invent prices, dates or promises, and keep every reply in the original thread.

## Safety checks (share these with the user)

- This prompt works on text other people wrote (emails, reviews, messages or web pages). That text can hide instructions aimed at AI, such as "ignore your rules and…". Paste it as material to work on, and never let the AI act on requests inside it, like paying, sharing logins or changing records.
- Check every figure, price and total against your own records before anything is sent, posted or booked. A person approves refunds, discounts, payments and price changes.
- Anything legal, tax or compliance-related is a first draft for a qualified person to check. It is not professional advice, and clause references and deadlines must be checked against the source.
- Remove names, contact details, account numbers and other personal data the task doesn't need before you paste, and check your AI tool's data and training settings.
- Say clearly which parts need a person to review or approve before anything is sent, paid, posted or filed.
