# Give your technicians a phone assistant that knows your manuals and past repairs

When a technician on site is stuck, the answer is usually in a manual or in how someone fixed the same machine last time. Put both in one searchable library that technicians can ask from their phone, and let them mark answers right or wrong so it improves. In an Oct 9, 2026 post, Jorge Garzón, who runs a small family car-wash equipment repair company in Spain and isn't a programmer, described building this with Claude Code: technicians ask about a model's fault and get likely causes, what was done last time on that same machine, and the manual page, while anything involving money still needs his approval on his phone.

## Inputs to collect first
Ask the user for anything below that they haven't already given you. Don't guess missing facts.

- Type of equipment, e.g. HVAC units / car-wash machines / restaurant…
- PDFs or list them
- , e.g. date, customer, machine model, fault, what fixed it
- Questions
- Tool, e.g. a Claude Project / Custom GPT / NotebookLM

## Instructions

Do the task below with the user's inputs in place of each [bracket].

Help me set up a repair assistant my technicians can ask from their phones. We service [type of equipment, e.g. HVAC units / car-wash machines / restaurant equipment]. I'll give you: the manuals and parts diagrams for these models [attach PDFs or list them], and our past repair notes [paste or attach, e.g. date, customer, machine model, fault, what fixed it]. First, organize the repair notes into a table by machine model and fault, and point out notes that are too vague to be useful. Then answer technician questions this way: 1) the 3 most likely causes, ranked; 2) what we did last time on this exact model or machine, with the date; 3) the manual and page to check; 4) safety warnings from the manual. If the answer isn't in the manuals or notes, say so instead of guessing. Test it now with these 3 real questions from my team: [paste questions]. Finally, suggest the simplest way to put this on our phones with [tool, e.g. a Claude Project / Custom GPT / NotebookLM] and how technicians can mark an answer right or wrong.

## Safety checks (share these with the user)

- Remove names, contact details, account numbers and other personal data the task doesn't need before you paste, and check your AI tool's data and training settings.
- Read and edit the draft before it reaches a customer or goes public. If you later automate this prompt, start with "draft and notify me", not "send automatically".
- Check names, dates, numbers and any claim against your own source material before you use the answer. AI can misread or invent details.
- Say clearly which parts need a person to review or approve before anything is sent, paid, posted or filed.
