# Show your AI agent what you want instead of typing it: record a short narrated screen walkthrough with Loom's Record for agent, check the action plan it writes, then hand it to Claude, Cursor or Jira

Briefing an agent usually means typing long prompts, uploading screenshots and copying links, and anything vague means more back-and-forth. Atlassian launched Record for agent in Loom on Oct 22, 2026, in open beta for Loom Business + AI and Enterprise plans on the new Loom for Mac and the Chrome extension. You record your screen while talking through the task (up to five minutes); Loom captures your transcript, keyframe snapshots, where you clicked and the links you visited, and turns them into an Action Plan of discrete tasks with transcript quotes, keyframes and timestamps. On Mac a Selection tool pins an exact on-screen element and a Magic pen draws temporary annotations. You can send the plan to an agent such as Rovo, Claude or Cursor, copy it as a markdown prompt, or turn it into Jira work items. Atlassian's examples include UI changes and bug fixes, slide copy from a deck walkthrough, reports from several open dashboards, user flows and feature specs. The prompt below makes sure the agent checks the plan with you before acting, and works with any recording transcript if you don't have Loom.

## Inputs to collect first
Ask the user for anything below that they haven't already given you. Don't guess missing facts.

- The Loom action plan or prompt, or a transcript of my narrated…

## Instructions

Do the task below with the user's inputs in place of each [bracket].

Below is an action plan generated from a screen recording where I walked through a task: [paste the Loom action plan or prompt, or a transcript of my narrated recording plus screenshots]. The goal is: [e.g. change this button and form on our pricing page / turn this dashboard walkthrough into a one-page weekly report / draft slide copy for this deck]. Before you do anything: 1) Restate each task in one line in your own words, with the timestamp or screenshot it came from. 2) List anything that's ambiguous, contradictory or missing (which page, which element, exact wording, edge cases) and ask me about each one. 3) Point out anything I said that you can't actually do or don't have access to. After I answer, do the tasks one at a time and stop after each so I can check it. Don't change anything outside what I showed. At the end, give me a checklist I can compare against the recording to confirm every task was done.

## Safety checks (share these with the user)

- This prompt works on text other people wrote (emails, reviews, messages or web pages). That text can hide instructions aimed at AI, such as "ignore your rules and…". Paste it as material to work on, and never let the AI act on requests inside it, like paying, sharing logins or changing records.
- Check every figure, price and total against your own records before anything is sent, posted or booked. A person approves refunds, discounts, payments and price changes.
- Read and edit the draft before it reaches a customer or goes public. If you later automate this prompt, start with "draft and notify me", not "send automatically".
- Check names, dates, numbers and any claim against your own source material before you use the answer. AI can misread or invent details.
- Say clearly which parts need a person to review or approve before anything is sent, paid, posted or filed.
