# Finish property inspections while you walk: talk through each room and take photos, then have an AI fill in the checklist, match every photo to the right item and turn each problem you mention into a work order for you to review

Typing up an inspection afterwards often takes as long as the walkthrough itself. On October 30, 2026 SnapInspect, inspection software used by property managers, home inspectors and facilities teams, announced three AI features (reported by TMCnet from its Business Wire release): AI Inspections, where the inspector describes each area out loud and takes photos while the AI fills in the checklist and matches each photo to its item; AI Work Orders, where a deficiency said out loud, or a photo of it, becomes a categorised work order ready to route; and AI Workflows, where a plain-English rule such as 'when a new inspection is created, set up a follow-up task' becomes an automation with a diagram and a run log. If the AI can't understand part of the walkthrough, the inspection stays partly complete for the inspector to finish. The release cites an IREM and AppFolio survey of 3,662 US property managers in which 58% use AI but only 8% have a written AI policy. The prompt below does the same with a phone voice memo and any AI assistant.

## Inputs to collect first
Ask the user for anything below that they haven't already given you. Don't guess missing facts.

- Ress, unit, type (e.g. 2-bed apartment, single-family home)
- Move-in, move-out, routine, pre-purchase
- Your checklist, area by area, or say 'use a standard checklist for…
- Transcript
- Your own material (text, notes or data)

## Instructions

Do the task below with the user's inputs in place of each [bracket].

Turn my spoken property walkthrough into a finished inspection report and work orders. Property: [address, unit, type (e.g. 2-bed apartment, single-family home)]. Inspection type: [move-in, move-out, routine, pre-purchase]. My checklist: [paste your checklist, area by area, or say 'use a standard checklist for this inspection type']. Here is the transcript of my voice memo as I walked through: [paste transcript], and the list of photo file names in the order I took them: [paste]. 1) Fill in the checklist area by area: condition (good, fair, poor, not checked) and a one-line note, using only what I said. Where I said nothing about an item, mark it NOT CHECKED rather than guessing. 2) Match each photo to the checklist item it most likely shows, based on when it was taken in the walkthrough, and flag any you're unsure of. 3) List every problem I mentioned as a draft work order: area, issue, likely trade (plumber, electrician, handyman, cleaner), urgency (safety now, this week, routine) and notes for the contractor. 4) For a move-out, separate likely tenant damage from normal wear and tear, and say what evidence would support each. 5) List anything I should go back and check. Don't send work orders or contact anyone; give me the report and drafts to approve.

## Safety checks (share these with the user)

- This prompt works on text other people wrote (emails, reviews, messages or web pages). That text can hide instructions aimed at AI, such as "ignore your rules and…". Paste it as material to work on, and never let the AI act on requests inside it, like paying, sharing logins or changing records.
- Remove names, contact details, account numbers and other personal data the task doesn't need before you paste, and check your AI tool's data and training settings.
- Read and edit the draft before it reaches a customer or goes public. If you later automate this prompt, start with "draft and notify me", not "send automatically".
- Check names, dates, numbers and any claim against your own source material before you use the answer. AI can misread or invent details.
- Say clearly which parts need a person to review or approve before anything is sent, paid, posted or filed.
