On his way to work he texted his Grok Bot to handle it, told it to use his card, and dropped in the files he had. When he got home the shop was live with inventory listed and payments working, and a real customer had already placed an order. Self-reported, with one order so far. Telling a bot to \"use my card\" is risky: give it a low-limit virtual card or have it ask before any charge, and check what it signed up for. Use when the user wants help with store setup (ecommerce) for a small business."

# Have a bot build a small online shop from a folder of product files: photos, names, prices and sizes, show you the plan and costs first, connect a standard checkout, and place a test order before you share the link

Ardullo posted on X in October 2026 that he had long promised to build a site for his wife's ice skating gear business. On his way to work he texted his Grok Bot to handle it, told it to use his card, and dropped in the files he had. When he got home the shop was live with inventory listed and payments working, and a real customer had already placed an order. Self-reported, with one order so far. Telling a bot to "use my card" is risky: give it a low-limit virtual card or have it ask before any charge, and check what it signed up for.

## Inputs to collect first
Ask the user for anything below that they haven't already given you. Don't guess missing facts.

- Business
- Products
- Stripe/Shopify

## Instructions

Do the task below with the user's inputs in place of each [bracket].

1. Put everything in one folder: product photos, names, prices, sizes and your logo.
2. Say: "Build an online shop for my [business] that sells [products]. Use the photos, names and prices in these files."
3. Add: "List every product with a clear photo, price and sizes. Connect checkout through [Stripe/Shopify]."
4. Add: "Show me the full plan and any costs before you set anything up. Don't spend money or turn on payments until I say yes."
5. Place one small test order yourself before you share the link.
6. Check the first real orders by hand: price, shipping and stock.
Safety: use a low-limit virtual card or approve every charge, and review every account it creates.

## Safety checks (share these with the user)

- Check every figure, price and total against your own records before anything is sent, posted or booked. A person approves refunds, discounts, payments and price changes.
- Remove names, contact details, account numbers and other personal data the task doesn't need before you paste, and check your AI tool's data and training settings.
- Check names, dates, numbers and any claim against your own source material before you use the answer. AI can misread or invent details.
- Say clearly which parts need a person to review or approve before anything is sent, paid, posted or filed.
