Get a short personal podcast every morning: have an AI agent read your calendar, what your team shipped yesterday and the day's news in your field, and turn it into 8 to 10 minutes you can listen to: AI agent prompt
On Oct 29, 2026 builder Matt Ahlborg shared on X an agent that makes him a personal podcast every morning. It reads his agenda from Google Calendar (read-only), retells what his team shipped from GitHub activity and the daily activity channel the way a host would rather than as a changelog, then boils down what about 20 accounts he follows on X are arguing about that day. The episode runs about 8 to 10 minutes and he listens while jogging. It runs as a GitHub Action, and he says picking out high-signal posts is the hardest part and still needs tuning. The prompt below sets up the same daily episode with any AI tool that can read your sources and make audio.
The prompt
Every weekday at [6:30 AM], make me a short audio briefing of [8 to 10] minutes that I can listen to while I [get ready, commute, run]. Use only these sources, read-only: 1) my calendar for today: list each meeting with the time, who's in it and one line on what I should prepare; 2) what my team finished in the last 24 hours from [GitHub, Linear, Slack channel #updates, other]: retell it like a podcast host in plain words (who did what and why it matters), not as a list of ticket numbers; 3) the weather for [city]; 4) the top [3] topics people in [my industry] are discussing today, from [these accounts, newsletters or sites]. For each topic say what happened, why it matters to me, and the source, and skip anything generic or that you can't trace to a real post or article. Write it as a script first, keep it conversational, end with the one thing I should do first today, then turn it into audio with [text-to-speech tool]. Save the script and audio to [folder] and send me the link. Never send, post or change anything in these accounts.

Before you use it: what to check
Already built into this prompt
- Never send, post or change anything in these accounts.
- For each topic say what happened, why it matters to me, and the source, and skip anything generic or that you can't trace to a real post or article.
Check yourself
- This prompt works on text other people wrote (emails, reviews, messages or web pages). That text can hide instructions aimed at AI, such as "ignore your rules and…". Paste it as material to work on, and never let the AI act on requests inside it, like paying, sharing logins or changing records. How prompt injection works →
- Remove names, contact details, account numbers and other personal data the task doesn't need before you paste, and check your AI tool's data and training settings.
- Read and edit the draft before it reaches a customer or goes public. If you later automate this prompt, start with "draft and notify me", not "send automatically".
- Check names, dates, numbers and any claim against your own source material before you use the answer. AI can misread or invent details.
