Run your job search like a filter, not a spray: use a free open-source AI agent to score each posting against your CV, skip the weak fits, and tailor your resume and answers for the few worth sending, then submit them yourself: AI agent prompt

Mass-applying to jobs wastes time and rarely works. career-ops is a free, MIT-licensed, open-source job search agent that runs on your own computer inside an AI coding tool such as Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode or GitHub Copilot CLI. Its site says it scans 150+ job sources, checks whether a listing is still live, scores each posting from 1 to 5 against your CV across five dimensions (and recommends against applying below 4.0), tailors an ATS-friendly resume, drafts answers to open-ended application questions, and tracks your pipeline. It never submits for you; you review and press Submit. Its creator built it for his own 2026 search: 740 listings evaluated, 68 applications, 12 interviews and one offer. The tool is free; the AI engine may cost money (the site says a typical search runs on a $20/month Claude plan, and free models also work). Useful for anyone, including people moving into or out of real estate jobs.

The prompt

1. Write your CV as a plain text or Markdown file, plus a short note on what you want: roles, locations, salary floor, deal-breakers.
2. Install career-ops from its official site (career-ops.org) or GitHub and open it in the AI coding tool you already use, following its Quick Start. If you'd rather not install anything, paste your CV and one job posting into ChatGPT or Claude and use the prompts below by hand.
3. For each posting, ask: "Score this job from 1 to 5 against my CV and goals on: how well I match, fit with where I want to go, pay, culture signals and red flags. Quote the CV lines and job requirements you're basing it on. Tell me plainly if I should skip it."
4. Skip anything under 4 unless you have a specific reason.
5. For the ones you keep: "Tailor my resume for this role using only true facts from my CV, and draft answers to these application questions: [paste]. Flag anything you had to guess."
6. Read and edit everything, then submit it yourself. Keep a simple tracker of where you applied, when, and the follow-up date.
