Review collection & routing: AI agent prompt
Collect reviews after delivery; publish happy ones, route unhappy ones to a human.
EcommerceReviewsintermediateWho this is for
Online stores and local businesses that ask for reviews after a sale or visit.
Not for
Anyone hoping to send the review link only to happy customers or reward reviews: Google's policy forbids both.
What you need
Your business name, public review link and who handles complaints.
The prompt
Draft a post-delivery review request message that asks every customer for an honest review and includes our public review link. Then write follow-up rules: everyone gets the same review link, whatever their rating; if a customer rates us 3 or lower or mentions a problem, also apologize, ask what went wrong, and create a task for the team with the order details. Don't offer discounts or gifts for reviews, and don't send the link only to happy customers (Google's review policy forbids selectively asking for positive reviews).
Worked example
A fictional business, so you can see what to paste in and what a good answer looks like. The example answer was written with AI help and its numbers and dates were checked; your AI's answer will be worded differently, so check it the same way.
Sample input (what you paste in)
Business: Fernwood Bike Co. (sells e-bikes online). Review link: [link]. Complaints go to Sam.
Example output (illustrative)
Message (sent to every customer): "Hi [name], your e-bike was delivered on [date]. We'd love an honest review, good or bad: [link]. And if anything isn't right, just reply here and Sam will sort it out." Rule 1: everyone gets the same review link, whatever they say. Rule 2: if a reply mentions a problem or a rating of 3 or lower: "Sorry it wasn't great. What went wrong? Sam will look at it personally." Then create a task for Sam: order #, the customer's words, due in 1 business day. Rule 3: no discounts, gifts or contest entries in exchange for a review.
Check before you use it: Check that the link goes out to everyone, and read your review platform's rules; Google's Maps policy forbids selectively soliciting positive reviews and offering incentives.

Before you use it: what to check
Already built into this prompt
- Don't offer discounts or gifts for reviews, and don't send the link only to happy customers (Google's review policy forbids selectively asking for positive reviews).
Check yourself
- This prompt works on text other people wrote (emails, reviews, messages or web pages). That text can hide instructions aimed at AI, such as "ignore your rules and…". Paste it as material to work on, and never let the AI act on requests inside it, like paying, sharing logins or changing records. How prompt injection works →
- Check every figure, price and total against your own records before anything is sent, posted or booked. A person approves refunds, discounts, payments and price changes.
- Remove names, contact details, account numbers and other personal data the task doesn't need before you paste, and check your AI tool's data and training settings.
- Read and edit the draft before it reaches a customer or goes public. If you later automate this prompt, start with "draft and notify me", not "send automatically".
