Let customers get a quote from you inside ChatGPT: build a short question flow that gathers the details, gives a price and sends them to your site to buy: AI agent prompt
Shoppers increasingly start in ChatGPT instead of a search engine. On Oct 29, 2026 Ageas said its esure brand became the first UK motor insurer to give drivers a direct car insurance quote through ChatGPT: a plugin built in-house asks a series of simple questions, generates a quote in a couple of minutes, and then lets the customer click through to the esure website to buy, tailor their cover or add options. The prompt below plans the same kind of quote flow for any business that prices by a few answers, from cleaning to printing to insurance.
The prompt
Help me design a quote assistant for my business [name], which sells [service or product] in [area]. Our prices are worked out from these factors: [list, e.g. size, frequency, materials, location] using these rules: [paste price list or formula]. 1) Turn the factors into the shortest set of plain questions, one at a time, with example answers, and say which ones are required. 2) Write the rules for when the assistant must not give a price and should hand off to a person instead, e.g. unusual jobs, missing details, or anything outside [limits]. 3) Write the quote message it shows: the price or price range, what's included, how long the quote is valid, and a link to [booking or checkout page] to buy. 4) List what we should and shouldn't collect for privacy, and the wording that tells customers the quote is an estimate until confirmed. 5) Suggest how to build it: a ChatGPT app or custom GPT that calls our pricing [API or spreadsheet], and what to test before launch. Never quote a number the rules don't support.

Before you use it: what to check
Already built into this prompt
- Never quote a number the rules don't support.
Check yourself
- Check every figure, price and total against your own records before anything is sent, posted or booked. A person approves refunds, discounts, payments and price changes.
- Remove names, contact details, account numbers and other personal data the task doesn't need before you paste, and check your AI tool's data and training settings.
- Read and edit the draft before it reaches a customer or goes public. If you later automate this prompt, start with "draft and notify me", not "send automatically".
- Check names, dates, numbers and any claim against your own source material before you use the answer. AI can misread or invent details.
