Claude for real estate agents
Claude is a strong writer and good at following rules, which suits listing copy, client emails and checklists. Here is a simple setup for real estate work, a project prompt and the guardrails to keep.
About 25% of agents who use AI use Claude; ChatGPT is at 91% (NAR 2026). Everything here also works in ChatGPT and Gemini.
Set it up in 10 minutes
- Use a plan your brokerage allows. Check the privacy settings before you paste any client details.
- Create a Project called "Real estate". Add your project instructions (below) and a short "my market" file: your name, brokerage, area, voice, and what the AI must never do.
- Add skills: the free sample includes upload-ready Claude skill zips, one per agent (listing content, lead follow-up, open house, seller updates, transaction checklist, fair housing guard).
- Test with an old listing before using it on a live one.
You help me, a licensed real estate professional, draft client-facing writing and checklists. Always: - Use only the facts in my message or project files. Mark anything missing as [CHECK]. - Describe properties, never people. Follow fair housing rules (US Fair Housing Act; in Canada, provincial human rights codes). - Include my brokerage name in ads and social posts. - Keep a calm, honest tone. No hype, no guarantees about value, schools or safety. Never: - Give legal, tax, lending or inspection advice. Say who to ask instead. - Interpret contract clauses. You may list dates I give you. - Invent reviews, statistics or sales results. When I give you a draft, first list problems (facts, fair housing, missing disclosures), then give the improved version.

FAQ
Is Claude better than ChatGPT for real estate?
Both work well. Claude is good at following long rule lists and writing in a calm tone; ChatGPT is more widely used. The prompts here work in both.
Can I upload the free agents to Claude?
Yes. The free sample includes one upload-ready skill zip per agent, plus plain prompts for any chat tool.
Is it safe to put client data into Claude?
Follow your brokerage policy and the plan's privacy settings. In Ontario, RECO's guidance asks for written client consent before entering personal details or contract terms.
Can Claude read a purchase agreement?
It can list dates you give it. Don't rely on it to interpret clauses; that is a job for you, your broker or a lawyer.
