Check last year's tax return for reliefs you didn't claim: have AI list every allowance, relief and credit a business like yours could use, mark which you claimed, estimate the misses, and take the list to your accountant: AI agent prompt
Small businesses, especially owners with more than one company, often miss a relief or allowance simply because nobody looked. AI Business Plays writes up a self-reported X post by a UK owner of more than one business who posts as Future Forward. He uploaded his tax return to Grok Bot and asked it to look it over; it spotted that he hadn't claimed Employment Allowance (a relief on employer National Insurance) for one of his businesses last year, which took £3,990 off this year's tax bill. It is self-reported. Tax rules and eligibility depend on your country and business, so have your accountant confirm before anything is claimed or corrected, and remove personal identifiers you don't need to share.
The prompt
Here is last year's tax return and payroll summary for my business [attach, with ID numbers removed]. About the business: [country, legal structure, industry, number of employees, turnover, any other businesses I own]. 1) List every allowance, relief and credit a business like mine could normally claim in [country] for that year, with a one-line plain-English explanation and the main eligibility rules. 2) Mark each as claimed, not claimed, or can't tell from these documents. 3) For each one not claimed that I might qualify for, estimate roughly what it could be worth and what document would prove I qualify. 4) Note any deadline for claiming it late or correcting last year's return. 5) Turn this into a short list of questions for my accountant. Don't file or submit anything, and say clearly where you're unsure of the rules.

Before you use it: what to check
Already built into this prompt
- Don't file or submit anything, and say clearly where you're unsure of the rules.
Check yourself
- Check every figure, price and total against your own records before anything is sent, posted or booked. A person approves refunds, discounts, payments and price changes.
- Anything legal, tax or compliance-related is a first draft for a qualified person to check. It is not professional advice, and clause references and deadlines must be checked against the source.
- Remove names, contact details, account numbers and other personal data the task doesn't need before you paste, and check your AI tool's data and training settings.
- Read and edit the draft before it reaches a customer or goes public. If you later automate this prompt, start with "draft and notify me", not "send automatically".
