Write your own press release from a few lines of notes, then have the AI check it the way an editor would before you send it out: AI agent prompt
New tools like Vokolla's press release agent (launched Oct 23, 2026) let small businesses skip the agency: describe your news in a few sentences, or paste your own draft, and the agent writes or checks it against what publishers require (a clear opening, a proper dateline, news rather than advertising) and asks for missing facts instead of inventing them. The prompt below does the writing and the editor check in any AI assistant.
The prompt
Help me write a press release for my business, [business name], in [city, state/province]. The news: [new location / product launch / first big customer / milestone / award], happening on [date]. Key facts: [numbers, names, prices, dates]. Who cares and why: [customers, local community, industry]. Quote from me: [paste, or write "draft one for me to approve"]. About us: [2 to 3 sentences]. Media contact: [name, email, phone]. 1) Before writing, list any facts you're missing and ask me for them. Don't invent numbers, quotes or customers. 2) Write the release: headline under 12 words, a dateline (CITY, Province/State, Month Day, Year), an opening paragraph that answers who, what, when, where and why, one or two supporting paragraphs, the quote, an "About" section and the media contact. Keep it under 450 words, in plain, factual language. 3) Then act as a newswire editor: list everything that reads like advertising (superlatives, "best", exclamation marks, sales language) and fix it, and check the dateline, quote attribution and facts. 4) Give me a 2-sentence pitch email to send to [local paper / trade publication] with the release.

Before you use it: what to check
Already built into this prompt
- Don't invent numbers, quotes or customers.
Check yourself
- Check every figure, price and total against your own records before anything is sent, posted or booked. A person approves refunds, discounts, payments and price changes.
- Remove names, contact details, account numbers and other personal data the task doesn't need before you paste, and check your AI tool's data and training settings.
- Read and edit the draft before it reaches a customer or goes public. If you later automate this prompt, start with "draft and notify me", not "send automatically".
- Check names, dates, numbers and any claim against your own source material before you use the answer. AI can misread or invent details.
