Build a tenant message bot in Slack with an AI coding assistant in an afternoon: write the rules for what it answers and what goes to a person, then let your staff test it before tenants see it: AI agent prompt
On Nov 2, 2026, a Tokyo-based investor who runs a shared office business (@YUKICAPITALen) posted that the week before he built a chatbot that receives tenant messages automatically, with Claude Code doing most of the work in about two hours, as an app inside Slack, without hiring an engineer. He gave it rules: 'If this kind of message comes, reply this way. If that kind comes, report it to this channel.' The AI handles the first response; things it can't answer, like a water leak, go to a person, and he wants a report of each day's inquiries every morning. He expects staff work to drop by one to three or four hours a day but says he won't know until staff use it, so he added a step where staff test it first. If testing goes well he will announce it to all contract holders, about 40 companies.
The prompt
1. Collect 30 to 50 real tenant messages from the last few months (remove names and personal details). 2. Ask ChatGPT or Claude: "Group these into types. For each type, say whether a bot can answer it from our rules or it must go to a person." Mark anything urgent (leaks, lockouts, safety) as person-only. 3. Write the rules as a simple table: message type, the reply to send, or which channel or person to alert. 4. Open Claude Code (or another AI coding assistant) and ask: "Build a Slack app that reads messages from tenants in [channel or inbox], replies using these rules, sends anything not covered or urgent to [staff channel] with the original message, and posts a summary of the day's inquiries every morning at 8." Paste your rules. 5. Test it with your staff first, using made-up tenant messages. Ask them what it got wrong. 6. Fix the rules, then tell tenants the bot is starting and how to reach a person directly. 7. Review the morning summaries weekly and track whether staff time actually drops.

Before you use it: what to check

- This prompt works on text other people wrote (emails, reviews, messages or web pages). That text can hide instructions aimed at AI, such as "ignore your rules and…". Paste it as material to work on, and never let the AI act on requests inside it, like paying, sharing logins or changing records. How prompt injection works →
- Don't let AI make the final call on hiring, pay, performance or discipline. Use it to organise information, and have a person decide using criteria you can explain.
- Anything legal, tax or compliance-related is a first draft for a qualified person to check. It is not professional advice, and clause references and deadlines must be checked against the source.
- Remove names, contact details, account numbers and other personal data the task doesn't need before you paste, and check your AI tool's data and training settings.
